Some days ago i was reading an old review from a famous journalist in an italian music magazine about the time this record was done and it was a big breaking off. It was just like a new jeffrey lee trying to save his life drinkin' only tea, could lose the consideration as an artist at the top. So, condamned to be a damned artist, JLP and the Gun Club made instead here one of their best jobs starting from the cover with the incredible painting of Claus Castenskiold (yeah, there's a rule: the best GC records got among the most amazing covers ever done..).
Sure; Perverted by Language is another visual masterpiece applied to a great alt rock album..
I love this one too! The fact that Robin Guthrie from Cocteau Twins did the production makes it that much cooler.
Have you seen some of The Fall's covers (LPs and 45s) ? They used his art a few times....
