This is a keeper from the word go. Recorded live in 1995 but not released until 1998 at Yoshi's in Oakland, CA, Robben Ford is joined by long-time Blue Line trio members Roscoe Beck on bass and Tom Brechtlein on drums, as well as Bill Boublitz on a baby grand piano. Although nearly all of the songs can be found on other Ford albums most are from Handful of Blues, one of the things that makes this jazzy recording so special is that Ford is playing only an acoustic guitar. After Ford's Talk to Your Daughter album was released in 1988, Robben used a Robben Ford Signature model guitar created in a collaboration with Dan Smith of Fender and produced in Japan between 1987 and 1993. That guitar was based on the Fender Master Series Esprit Ultra that was produced from 1983 to 1986 in Japan. In 1987, new management at Fender authorized the first production of the Robben Ford Signature guitar. In 1994, production of the guitar moved from Japan to the Fender Custom Shop. Stylistically, this is a relaxed and tasteful ensemble album. Perhaps not as blues based as some of his excellent electric albums, like Talk To Your Daughter, or my favorite of Robben's recordings, Supernatural, but still in the same vein
