Mine did.

Thanks for the source!

Back covers are individually hand-drawn with illuminated cross icon and catalogue number and are hand-stamped with Constellation logo; all in silver ink. Inserts include a penny crushed on Montreal railroad tracks, blueprint album graphic and notes, credit sheet and reproduction of an early GY!BE show handbill - all placed inside a plain manila envelope (original first run of 500 featured acetone transfers hand-printed on each envelope). Gold Crown
That all sounds right, could you provide a source for that info?
And is this a limited edition? Anyone knows the number of copies?
can someone tell me EXCATLY what's the difference between this and the first 500 ltd ones?
Look at the pages, the differences are there - aside from the obvious one you stated yourself: they're different pressings, and should be regarded as such. One is very rare, one is not.
The print glued on the front is not a actual photographic print, but a regular offset print.
read the description for the first release on this website
I'm late to this reply, but there are a few good giveaways. If it came in a plastic bag that said "original 1997 lp" then it's a reprint. If the photo on the cover is a print and NOT glossy, then its a reprint, and if the back is NOT numbered, then it's the reprint.
The original has a real photo, the reissue has a print..
Man thanks for this, by the looks of it I THINK I have an original. I have a photo glued onto the front as opposed to being printed on the sleeve, the 'Faulty Schematics' print has blotchy patches around the white border and the gig flyer is from 1997. However, my manilla envelope doesn't have a transfer on it. Hmmmm :S
The photo on the front and the "faulty schematics of ruined machine" insert. The photo has to be a photo, not a print. The insert has to be made with ink and not on a printer. There is two images here on discogs of this particular insert; the original one, has ink scuffs in the white perimeter, the other one is clear cut, clearly made digitally on a printer, instead of in a ink press...best regardsSoren
Exactly? : "original first run of 500 featured black and white darkroom prints; subsequent editions are offset printed"
The main differences in the first 500 are that the pictures on the cover are of much higher quality (glossy, actual dark room photos) and the jacket cover is a darker purple. The back left corner has the edition number hand-written in silver ink (in my case, I have 297/500). The manila envelope that holds the inserts has an ink transfer on it—I believe they're different for each. Most of the same inserts are included (different concert bill, additional insert info from Constellation), as is the penny. The "Reverend Gary Davis" illustration and "Faulty Schematics" are there too. That's really about it.
That's not quite right. The reissue does have a picture glued on the front, but it is a digital print not a proper photograph as in the first 500 copies.
The Exact difference (Should) be the photograph on the cover, which on the original is a photograph glued onto the cover paper, where on the reissue, it is a print - this means not a picture glued onto a cover, but a cover with a printed image in the middle, ieg. one piece of paper...some people say, that you are able to see, on the original, which number of the 500 copies, it is.I haven't been able to find this, the small amount of time, i was holding an original - otherwise that would also be a difference...
I found that the handbill in my copy was from 1999 therefore making it a repress. But it might be different for you. I hope this was helpful.
